Pleasant Street Kitchen Before
A young couple, first-time home buyers, loved the location and light in their new third-floor condo, but the entry and kitchen were terribly cramped. We walked through with them before closing and did some investigation around an embedded furnace chimney at the crux of the problem. Our solution uncovers and celebrates the chimney. It becomes a highlight at the center of their home, and allows for a more natural flow between all the living spaces. All the existing cabinetry remains in place, new storage is provided, and a new wood counter welcomes everyone to the kitchen. This small intervention only took a few weeks of construction and allowed them to move in right away.
